“I Want Tee Higgins Back” Cincinnati Bengals’ Front Office Tackles Tough Decisions To Secure Future: Duke Tobin Aims To Keep Dynamic Duo Ja’Marr Chase And Tee Higgins
The Director of Player Personnel of the Cincinnati Bengals, Duke Tobin, has recently come forward and reinstated the will to keep the team’s two talented wide receivers in the squad.
However, earlier, Tobin was resolute in his decision to not give Tee Higgins away but now things have taken a turn. The initial decision is to keep Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins together. Hence, as Tobin expressed at the Senior Bowl, the Bengals have to find a way to retain both wide receivers and figure out the rest before the next season starts.

According to Bengals.com, the squad’s official site, Tobin shared, “There hasn’t been a year we don’t want to continue to develop both lines of scrimmage. That’s where the game is won and lost. There are great players on every team that are great skill players and you need them to make big plays in big moments and they want the ball in their hands in big moments. But the game is won and lost on the line of scrimmage and everyone is down here at the Senior Bowl focused on the line of scrimmage.”
“Those are the guys that are hard to find. You get a great rusher and it makes teams have to rely on their tackles. And if they’re not up to it, it’s a big problem. You want to be that problem for the other team and solve that problem for yourself.”
Higgins will enter the free market in March if he doesn’t sign any contracts with his current squad. Whereas, Chase has another year under his contract. As per Pro Football Talk, Higgins collected 148 catches for 1,120 yards considering the last two seasons. This season, he was absent from five games and concluded his season with 42 catches for 656 yards.
Tobin further shared, “We like Ja’Marr. He’s in our long-term plans. He’s a high-level player in this league. And we want to keep those kinds of players on our team. I want Tee Higgins back. Everyone on our team would like Tee Higgins back. There’s a pie and there are things we can do and can’t do because of it. We’ll see.”
