The Cincinnati Reds say that young infielder Noelvi Marte will be ready to go for spring training, despite suffering a hamstring injury that forced him to stop playing winter ball.

That’s certainly good news for the Reds, who will be a trendy pick to do damage this season in the National League. After finishing 82-80 last season, Cincinnati appears better after adding Frankie Montas, Emilio Pagan, Nick Martinez and Jeimer Candelario in free agency. Furthermore, they should see major steps forward from young players like Spencer Steer, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Elly De La Cruz, Marte and others.

Marte made his major league debut this past year and played in 35 games for the Reds. He hit .316 with three homers, 15 RBI and six stolen bases.
