However, when looking to the future, there are some concerning developments with Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve hitting free agency once the season ends.

Houston has stated they would like Altuve to be an Astro for life. They haven’t explicitly said that about Bregman, but he’s been an important part of this franchise and seeing him play for another team would feel weird.

But, according to Chandler Rome of The Athletic, general manager Dana Brown told reporters at the facility there has been no extension conversations with either Altuve or Bregman.

Both players will be some of the most prized free agents on the market and other teams would love to take them out of Houston. In the past, owner Jim Crane has avoided handing out megadeals, even to some of his best players like George Springer, Carlos Correa and Gerrit Cole.
