Man stabbed in Leicester city centre fight

A man suffered a stab wound to his arm during a fight in Granby Street, Leicester city centre yesterday evening. Leicestershire Police said they were called to the area at 6.19pm on Friday, January 19.
A cordon was put in place in the area around the junction of Granby Street and Horsefair Street and the victim was taken to hospital. His injury has been described as non-life-threatening.

In a statement last night, the police appealed for witnesses to the fight. The statement said: “Officers are investigating a report of a stabbing in Leicester city centre.
Police received a call at 6.19pm this evening (19 January) following a report of two men fighting in Granby Street during which one of the men sustained a stab wound to his arm. The injured man has since attended hospital and his injury is not described as life threatening.
“The suspect left the scene before officers arrived. Our investigation remains at an early stage and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 514 of 19 January.”
