The latest Leicester City news as the Blues are said to be showing an interest in a key Southampton player in the final couple of weeks of the January transfer window.

City currently sit at the top of the Championship table, seven points clear of second-placed Ipswich, who they face on Monday, and 10 points clear of Southampton in third. The gap between City and fourth-placed Leeds is 17 points.

For the next few weeks, the teams towards the top of the league may look to do business to try and strengthen their squads for the second half of the campaign. For Enzo Maresca, his top target is midfielder Stefano Sensi, although players will have to be sold before the Italian can complete a move from Inter to the King Power Stadium.

While eyes will be on who may be coming in at clubs, those with players performing well could also be aware of who may gain interest from Premier League clubs. This is where Chelsea come in.

It has been reported by TEAMtalk that Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing a possible move for Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters towards the end of the January window. The report claims that ‘conversations’ have been had with agents and the club about a possible deal.

Walker-Peters has been a standout player for Southampton this season as they now challenge for one of the automatic promotion places. The 16-year-old has played every minute of every Championship game for the Saints, scoring twice and providing a further two assists.
