The 22-year-old has made his breakthrough at the King Power Stadium this season, helping Enzo Maresca’s side to the top of the Championship. McAteer has scored four league goals in 13 appearances and he also scored against Liverpool in the EFL Cup in September.

With the appointment of Enzo Maresca, the Leicester City hierarchy went some way to restoring faith in their decision-making.
