Leeds eye shock move for £100k-a-week player who’s blown Gary Lineker away recently
Leeds United’s search for a new left-back continues and now it is being claimed that The 49ers have interest in Tottenham Hotspur man Ben Davies – though a move is said incredibly ambitious.
Davies, 30, is approaching a decade at Spurs after joining the club from Swansea way back in 2014. He has gone on to play 327 times in both league and cup for Spurs – playing 16 times under Postecoglou.
While not first choice with Destiny Udogie the top pick on the left, and Micky van der Ven on the left side of central defence – Davies has still been a regular. Largely, due to injuries, his reliability and versatility.
Indeed, Davies has been playing well under former Celtic boss Postecoglou – and even earned praise from Gary Lineker this month. It seems incredibly unlikely that Spurs would sell the £100k-a-week man.
He has a contract at Spurs until June 2025, like Joe Rodon – meaning he will enter his last year at the end of the season. He has spoken about Rodon joining the perfect club in Leeds, and finding a home.

Phil Hay claims on The Athletic’s website that Leeds have ‘speculative’ interest in Davies, and that his versatility would really benefit Farke during the second half of the season in pursuit of promotion.
But, that Leeds are also aware a move is very unlikely given how important he is to Tottenham. It might be that a summer approach for Davies is successful, especially if Leeds are back in the Premier League.
There is no doubting though that a move for Davies would be an incredible signing. He is a top player, a consistent player, and one that offers both going forward and at the back. If it can be done, it must.
