Derrick Henry offers telling update on future with Titans Henry is set to become a free agent this offseason.
The Tennessee Titans finished with a losing record for the second straight season this year, a season that could spell the end of star running back Derrick Henry’s tenure with the team.
Henry is set to become a free agent this season. For the better part of the last ten years, Henry has been amongst the best running backs in all of football.
He has accomplished nearly everything there is to do from an individual standpoint in the NFL, reaching the Pro Bowl four times along with an Offensive Player of the Year and All-Pro honor back in 2020.
However, the one thing that has illuded Henry has been team success on the grandest stage, as he has never had the chance to play for a Super Bowl championship in his career.
During an appearance on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, Henry revealed that his focus has shifted away from individual accolades and that he is now focused solely on playing for whoever gives him the best chance at a Super Bowl
“Like I said, I want to win a Super Bowl,” said Henry. “I ain’t done playing, I ain’t close to done playing. I still feel I can run for another 2,000. But that is for the future to tell. I want to be somewhere that gives me the best shot of winning a Super Bowl. The business side is the business side.”
“At the end of the day, it has to make sense. I’m not just going to just accept anything. It’s a long season, we put our bodies through a lot. But at the same time I definitely want to be on a roster that can go out there and put ourselves in position to be able to win games and get into the playoffs and contend for a ring.”
