Lincoln City Boss Outlines Transfer Window Intentions

Lincoln City snatched a late draw at Wycombe yesterday, and afterward, head coach Michael Skubala outlined what fans can expect from the club over the next two weeks.

The Imps trailed to a first-half Dale Taylor goal right up until the 97th minute, but their pressure paid off when a deflected Lasse Sorensen cross dropped to Ethan Erhahon, who lifted the ball into the net to grab a point.

It was perhaps just rewards for their second-half performance, sparked by the introduction of Reeco Hackett. The former Portsmouth man has been injured for a couple of months, but he made a huge difference after coming on.

That player profile is one of two that former Leeds Under 21 boss Michael Skubala is keen to add to the Imps’ ranks over the next couple of weeks

“I’m still hopeful,” he said when asked by BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Michael Hortin whether any new players would be coming in this week.

“We’re still working hard. I still think we need to add to the group. I still think we need to bring in a bit of experience. I’m really keen on doing that.

“As you know, I like wide attacking players like Reeco coming on because I think, when you get those players on the pitches at this level, it’s hard to defend.

“Hopeful we can do something still, and we’re still working hard behind the scenes.”

The Imps stopped a run of four league defeats with the draw at Adams Park, and they welcomed a number of faces into the squad. Jack Moylan and Joe Taylor made their debuts for the Imps, whilst Freddie Draper made his first start since being recalled from a successful loan spell in League Two with Walsall.

The fixture list is not being kind to Skubala as he rebuilds, and his side now faces a daunting double-header at the LNER Stadium. The next 14 days bring Derby County and Peterborough back to back as the Imps hunt a first win since late November.
