Leeds United are said to be interested in signing Rangers left-back Borna Barisic this month, but the Glasgow outfit are keen on tying him down to a new contract.

He is in the final six months of his contract, meaning that he can hold talks with other clubs over a potential pre-contract agreement, to leave Ibrox upon the expiry of his deal.
The report details that Leeds are “hopeful” of bringing the 31-year-old south of the border this month as Farke eyes left-back reinforcements for the promotion run-in – approaches from the Serie A, Ligue 1, and La Liga have already been made.

However, it is also shared that the ‘Gers are aiming to keep the Croatian at the club beyond this season, with a contract being drawn up this week.
Philippe Clement is hoping to keep the experienced defender at the club, warding off interest from all the clubs revealed here, including Leeds.

It should be a fairly simple no from Leeds when looking at Barisic this month, given that there are multiple factors stacked against him being a good signing.
