Wolves star Luke Cundle undergoing Stoke City medical after terms agreed
Wolves midfielder Luke Cundle is undergoing a medical on Tuesday morning (9 January) after agreeing to the terms of a move to Stoke City, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old was recalled from a loan spell at Championship side Plymouth Argyle on Monday (8 January) after the Premier League club exercised a break clause
Now, Cundle is headed to their second-tier rivals on loan for the rest of the season after reaching a full agreement with Steven Schumacher’s side.
The signing of the attacking midfielder is seen as a major coup for the Potters after his impressive first half of the season with Argyle.
He has notched five goals and six assists across 27 appearances in all competitions from centre midfield, attacking midfield and as a striker.
Cundle scored the opening goal in Argyle’s recent 3-1 win over League Two side Sutton United on Saturday (6 January) and bagged against Premier League Crystal Palace in the League Cup back in August.
The 2002-born ace has made seven senior appearances for Wolves and made his debut aged 17 in the League Cup against Reading in the 2019-20 season.
The Englishman’s move to Stoke will become the third loan spell of his career after he spent last season at Swansea City where he bagged three goals and four assists.
Stoke City sit 19th in the Championship and were eliminated from the FA Cup on Saturday (6 January) by Brighton after their 4-2 home defeat.
