Star’s Career With Cincinnati Bengals Likely Over After Injury Update but Fans Missed him

Cincinnati Bengals fans wished a star wide receiver the best of luck after an injury update before the team’s Week 18 contest against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The Bengals have had several unfortunate injuries this season. The biggest injury was to quarterback Joe Burrow, which effectively ended any hopes of the Bengals making the playoffs.

The Bengals are already eliminated from the postseason this week. So the news Friday that star wide receiver Tee Higgins would be doubtful for their game against the Browns because of a hamstring injury is sure to hit the Bengals hard.

“Lot of memories. Lot of laughs. Just a lot of bonding going on with those guys. Something I can’t explain, that’s how much fun we always have.”

Chase would like Higgins to come back, but he understands the Bengals have serious issues with their salary cap coming up. It’s almost impossible to see how Higgins can return to Cincinnati next season.

Cincinnati Bengals fans say goodbye to Higgins

Bengals fans wished Higgins the best of luck in the future if indeed, his career with the Bengals is over. Here are the best takes of Bengals fans saying goodbye to Higgins.

The Cleveland Browns announced six of their players were ruled out for Sunday, which does not include players like Joe Flacco and Myles Garrett. also out per head coach Kevin Stefanski. However, Stefanski said that it’s possible edge rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and wide receiver Elijah Moore could play in this game, though Moore still needs to finish clearing concussion protocol.

The six players ruled out due to injury are CB Greg Newsome II (knee), LB Anthony Walker Jr. (knee), S Juan Thornhill (calf), CB Mike Ford Jr. (calf), WR Amari Cooper (heel) and K Dustin Hopkins (hamstring).

P Corey Bojorquez (quad), WR Marquise Goodwin (knee), LB Jordan Kunaszyk (calf) and the previously mentioned Elijah Moore are listed as questionable. In the case of Bojorquez, if he were unable to play, likely due to an aggravation of the injury, the Browns are either having a position player punt or just going for it every time. They don’t have a punter on the practice squad and don’t want to use one of their activations on one either. Riley Patterson will be activated to replace the injured Hopkins.

If Moore and Okoronkwo play in this game, it will be interesting to see how much they play. Whether that’s a pitch count for the sake of making sure they are good to go for the postseason or they will play it like a normal game remains to be seen. Moore would be the top receiver for the Browns with Cooper out. It doesn’t seem likely that tight end David Njoku will play in this game either, unless he successfully lobbies a chance to kick.

Myles Garrett is not going to play in this game per Stefanski, but he also did not practice on Friday. Stefanski labeled him out due to soreness. Given that he was a full participant the past two days, it has the appearance as a day off and an opportunity for those who will play to get the full load of reps.
