Man City transfer news: Phillips playing time guarantee before agreeing Juventus or Newcastle move

The 28-year-old is set to leave the Etihad this month, with Newcastle linked with a loan move. However, Juve have also consistently been linked with Phillips, and the bookies are predicting a two-way battle.

Oddschecker’s Leon Blackman: “It looks like Kalvin Phillips’ somewhat underwhelming spell at Manchester City will end this window with the midfielder set to leave the team in search of first-team football.

“Two teams have been made the clear favourites to battle it out for Phillips’ signature in January with Juventus (10/11) and Newcastle (11/10) the standouts to complete a move. These two teams have accounted for 87% of all bets placed on the Kalvin Phillips next club market over the last seven days. These odds will be ones to watch over the coming days to see if one of these teams emerges as a clear favourite to sign the England international in the current window.”

Newcastle United are ‘monitoring’ Joe Worrell’s situation at Nottingham Forest. according to the Athletic. The defender has dropped down the pecking order at the City Ground and could be set to move on in the January window.

West Ham have also been credited with interest in the 26-year-old. His appearances began to drop under Steve Cooper, but he could be set for a new lease of life under new Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo. However, he would have plenty of interest should he decide to move on.
