Mike Vrabel wants his Titans to beat the Jags in season finale because losing 'sucks'

Mike Vrabel provides clarity on future Decision with Tennessee Titans after what transpired within….

For the first time in his six-year NFL head coaching career, Mike Vrabel’s Tennessee Titans will finish in last place of the AFC South. After winning 41 games in his first four years (63% win rate), Vrabel has led just a 12-21 record since (36% win rate).

While there have been several other complicating factors the past two seasons, such as injuries to Ryan Tannehill, leading to a bottom-five scoring attack, the Titans can’t afford to continue down this non-competitive path. The early success was great, but this is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ business and the truth is, the Titans aren’t getting the job done.

Their recent struggles have suddenly led to several rumors suggesting Vrabel and the Titans could be headed for a split this offseason. Only, the reports have suggested it may be Vrabel, and not Tennessee’s front office who wants to move on.

With a potential head coach vacancy brewing in New England, would Coach Vrabel trade in his Titans colors to return to the franchise he won three Super Bowls with?

Knowing that there are so many questions about his future in Tennessee, Vrabel addressed the media on Wednesday, providing definitive clarity on his contract situation.

“Of course I want to be here. Be here as long as we can win, as long as we can do this thing, and it’s been great. But it also has been just this year. And nobody wants to be where we’re at.”

As to those rumors that Vrabel isn’t on the same page or doesn’t want to work with general manager Ran Carthon? Totally bogus.

“If we believed everything that was on social media, it’d be Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and there’s no tooth fairy, you know that,” Vrabel said. “So I really have never responded to any of those. And we’re not going to start now.”

We’re stunned to learn there’s no tooth fairy, but it’s nice to know Coach Vrabel isn’t headed anywhere this offseason.
