Bears Working Out Former Cardinals QB
Arizona Cardinals QB Chris Streveler was a fan favorite during his stint with the team.
ARIZONA — There’s been plenty of discussion surrounding the quarterback situations of both the Arizona Cardinals and Chicago Bears heading into the 2024 offseason, though Thursday morning provided a nice crossover between the two sides.
ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported the Bears are working out former Cardinals quarterback Chris Streveler.
Streveler worked out for the San Francisco 49ers earlier this season, too.
Streveler – 28-years-old – first started his professional career in the CFL after doing undrafted in 2018. He spent two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and won the Grey Cup in 2019 before parting for the Cardinals.
Streveler signed a future/reserve contract with Arizona in the 2020 offseason and stayed for nearly two years before being waived in November of 2021. He spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets as well.
Streveler has only appeared in nine NFL games, five coming in Arizona. He officially has completed 27-40 attempts for 231 yards and one touchdown/one interception.
He also has 75 yards on 16 attempts rushing.
Bears backup quarterback Tyson Bagent was absent at practice on Wednesday dueto illness, which has speculated some to believe Chicago could utilize Streveler as an emergency passer in the final week of the season.
