Paul Mullin has joked that even a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia couldn’t tempt him away from Wrexham after signing a new deal with the club.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Wrexham announced on New Year’s Day that key stars Mullin and Elliot Lee had signed new contracts that run until 2027. Hollywood co-owners Reynolds and McElhenney have both welcomed the news after seeing the duo commit their futures to the League Two club. Mullin and Lee have been talking about the new contracts, with the striker joking even a lucrative move to the Middle East couldn’t tempt him away from Wrexham.
WHAT MULLIN SAID
Lee spoke about his happiness at the news by telling reporters he was “over the moon, delighted, just want to make more memories really.” Mullin promptly followed up with a cheeky one liner that left his team-mate laughing, adding: “Even Saudi can’t tempt us!
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The news will be a huge boost to Wrexham as they aim to continue their rise up the leagues. Mullin has established himself as a vital player, finishing last season with 47 goals in competitions and topping the scoring charts in the National League. However, it’s Lee who is leading the way in the current campaign. He is the team’s top scorer on 13 goals but has admitted he’d be happy for his team-mate to outscore him this season.
