Packers' Matt LaFleur shuts down question about DC Joe Barry's job status

The Green Bay Packers Are Expected To Poach Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Champion Coach

The Green Bay Packers are expected to make a few changes to their coaching staff this upcoming off-season.  While many figure that head coach Matt LaFleur will be safe to return, there are a few other positions that seem less likely to return.

The top of that list seems to be defensive coordinator Joe Barry who, as of late, has been on the hot seat.  That seat got even hotter when quarterback Baker Mayfield had arguably the best game of his career that ended with a perfect passer rating of 158.3.  Since that game, many names have surfaced as possible replacements for Joe Barry, however, not many more intriguing than a current Dallas Cowboys coach.

Bill Huber of Packers Central highlighted how this move could help the Packers:Whitt’s time to become a coordinator has arrived. He spent a decade in Green Bay, with the Packers ranking first in interceptions, seventh in completion percentage and ninth in opponent passer rating during his tenure.

In three seasons as Dallas’ defensive passing-game coordinator, the Cowboys are third in opponent rating, third in opponent completion percentage and first in interceptions. This year, even with Trevon Diggs lost to a torn ACL, Dallas is No. 6 in opponent passer rating. DaRon Bland, a fifth-round pick last year, leads the NFL with eight interceptions and five pick-sixes.
