After the Green Bay Packers face the Carolina Panthers (2-12) in Week 16, they will have a huge matchup on the road in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings (7-7). According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, there will be no changes to the Week 17 NFL schedule.

Green Bay and Minnesota will be played next Sunday night on New Year’s Eve. With the no schedule change, it is a good thing that it turned out to be this way. Depending on what happens throughout the next two weeks in the NFL, the Week 18 NFL schedule times will be determined then.

It is very possible that Green Bay will defeat Carolina this weekend and Minnesota will lose to the Detroit Lions (10-4). That would make both teams 7-8 entering the Week 17 matchup. Another team that needs to lose this weekend is the Seattle Seahawks (7-7), who face the Tennessee Titans (5-9).

The NFC Wild Card race is heating up in the final three weeks of the NFL regular season. The Green Bay Packers need to win this weekend to make the Week 17 matchup meaningful on Sunday night football against the Minnesota Vikings.
