Chiefs depth chart with every starter on roster after 2023 NFL Draft

Reveals A Concern With Chiefs Offense This Season

The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t looked quite like themselves during the 2023 NFL season, though they did pick up a win against the New England Patriots in Week 15.

The Chiefs’ offense looks like nothing the unit has produced in the past as the team failed to surround Patrick Mahomes with enough viable options that defenses have to account for.

Mahomes has done his best to make his usual magic happen, but even he has had trouble trying to manufacture points

Kanas City may have beaten the New England Patriots, but it wasn’t the blowout some expected it to be given the talent disparity between the two teams.

The lack of weapons on the offensive end is glaring this season as Mahomes has leaned heavily on Travis Kelce to move the football.

However, people like Michael Robinson believe that Mahomes might be targeting Kelce too much via NFL Total Access.

“I believe Patrick is getting locked in on [Travis Kelce] too much,” Robinson said.

Robinson argues that Mahomes doesn’t trust his wide receiver room to make plays for him, and he isn’t completely wrong as they’ve let him down in crucial moments.

Rashee Rice has separated himself from the rest of his teammates as the Chiefs’ go-to wideout, though the rookie can’t carry the team by himself.

Kelce remains arguably the best tight end in the game today, but opposing defenses are well aware at this point that Mahomes is always looking for him.

Andy Reid will need to get even more creative than usual in order for the team’s offense to get back to its previous levels.
