Jets-Commanders Game Will Present Rare Scenario For The NFL
At this point of the 2023 NFL season, several teams have already been eliminated from playoff contention and are looking toward 2024 as their next opportunity to get back into the postseason.
Two of those teams, the New York Jets and Washington Commanders, have several questions they need to answer in the offseason.
The Jets have been a rollercoaster since Week 1 as they lost Aaron Rodgers for the season and were forced to juggle through multiple quarterback options.
Meanwhile, the Commanders are hoping Sam Howell is their answer under center though their defense needs a massive overhaul.
The Jets and Commanders are set to take each other on in Week 16, setting up a rare matchup via Dov Kleiman.
“The Jets, ranked 32nd on offense will take on the Commanders who are ranked 32nd on defense,” Kleiman tweeted.
In some ways, the game could be entertaining given that the Jets haven’t been able to score many points while the Commanders are unable to stop anyone anymore.
New York is coming off a shutout loss to the Miami Dolphins, while Washington almost completed a comeback against the Los Angeles Rams.
A win doesn’t do much good for either side, though fans would surely appreciate having something to cheer about at this juncture of the year.
It’ll be interesting to see which unit comes out on top given their struggles, though there are going to be more exciting games to watch on the slate.
