Philadelphia Eagles Fans: What It Means to “Bleed Green” - Ticketmaster Blog

Eagles in danger of missing Duo due to illness

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is battling an illness that may sideline him for Monday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Hurts did not practice on Friday because of an illness. He was downgraded to questionable on Sunday, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the star quarterback’s condition worsened over the weekend. Hurts will still travel to Seattle, but he will do so separately from the rest of the team.

Hurts is coming off a poor performance in Philadelphia’s 33-13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week. The Eagles also looked outclassed in a 42-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers the week before, so they have not fared well against the NFC’s best teams.

If Hurts cannot play on Monday, backup Marcus Mariota would get the start. The 10-3 Eagles are still tied for the best record in football, but they would face an uphill battle in a tough road game if Hurts sits.

The Buffalo Bills put together a hugely impressive performance on Sunday, blowing out the Dallas Cowboys 31-10. Perhaps more impressively, they did it without needing much of anything from quarterback Josh Allen.

The Bills were led by running back James Cook, who rushed for 179 yards on 25 carries. He added two catches for 42 yards, and scored two total touchdowns on the day. That left Allen in a supporting role, as he went just 7/15 for 94 yards passing, along with 24 rushing yards.

Allen’s relatively quiet performance was not lost on him. After the game, he admitted to reporters that he felt like “the kid on the class project that didn’t do anything and still got an A.”

Those numbers are the exception for Allen, not the norm. After all, he came into Sunday’s game with 3,447 passing yards on the season in what is a consistently high-octane offense. On the other hand, the more limited role meant that Allen did not throw an interception for just the third time this year.

The Bills are 8-6 and firmly in the playoff race, defying expectations with consecutive wins over the Chiefs and Cowboys. Allen will definitely need to bring some A-worthy performances moving forward to keep the momentum going.

There may be some doubts about Devin White’s long-term future with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the linebacker seemingly took himself out of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers ahead of the game’s kickoff.

After missing the last two games with a foot injury, White was a full participant in practice ahead of Sunday’s game and appeared poised to make his return. However, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, when White learned the team still planned to start backup linebacker KJ Britt, White abruptly informed the Buccaneers that he “couldn’t go.” The team responded by making him inactive.

Coach Todd Bowles confirmed that the Buccaneers made the call after White informed them he “couldn’t go.”

Stroud added that White’s attitude “has not sat well” with teammates or coaches, even before Sunday.
