Three players the New York Jets could draft in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft

With a 5-8 record, the Jets currently hold a top-10 pick. With Aaron Rodgers returning from an Achilles injury next season, it is vital that the Jets choose wisely and strengthen their team. Here are three players they could draft in round one of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Joe Alt – OT, Notre Dame
With Rodgers now 40, protecting him is critical to the Jets’ hopes. New York has suffered injury and inconsistency on the offensive line this season. Through 14 weeks, the Jets have started with more than ten combinations on their offensive line.
They must find tough, reliable players. Notre Dame’s Joe Alt is arguably the best offensive tackle in this draft. Alt weighs in at a monstrous 322lbs. He is a robust, sturdy presence with agility and an excellent feel for protecting the quarterback.
A team captain at Notre Dame and the son of a former NFL player, Alt owns the intangibles that NFL teams covet. Alt started 33 games in his three-year spell with the Fighting Irish. Dubbed by some as a generational prospect, the former First-Team All-American could be the perfect pick for New York’s troubled offensive line.
Rome Odunze – WR, Washington
The Jets already have young superstar Garrett Wilson on the roster, but they require more firepower. Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are not long-term options for the Jets, and neither are explosive playmakers.
Enter Rome Odunze; the Nevada native is a competitive, explosive playmaker capable of sublime moments. Odunze has 26 total touchdowns in 38 games with Washington. He has recorded over 3000 receiving yards.
His agility at the catch point and reliable hands make him the perfect foil opposite Wilson. Odunze is an All-American, and his skills have powered Washington to the playoff semi-final. He has performed on the big stage, which might be the ultimate test for any New York Jet.
Brock Bowers – TE, Georgia
Brock Bowers might be the best tight end prospect to enter the draft since Rob Gronkowski in 2010. Bowers is a two-time national champion and back-to-back winner of the John Mackey Award.
Analysts have always suggested that Aaron Rodgers has never played alongside a world-class tight end. Bowers would change that. Bowers’ 6ft 4in frame makes him a red zone machine, and he is a fierce blocker in the run game.
Teams do not often draft tight ends in the top ten. Nonetheless, Bowers is a game-changing prospect capable of memorable moments. He could unlock the Jets’ passing offense.
