Chiefs Top RB Remains Out Of Practice With Injury

To begin the 2023 season, the Kansas City Chiefs started with a very impressive 6-1 record, and it seemed like they were on their way to another dominating performance.

However, the Chiefs have lost four of their last six games since that 6-1 start, and now they only lead the AFC West by one game over the surging Denver Broncos.

Luckily, Kansas City should be able to at least get a little bit back on track in their next game since it’s a matchup against an underwhelming 3-10 New England Patriots team.

If the Chiefs are going to get a win this weekend, though, they’ll likely have to do it without running back Isiah Pacheco, who didn’t practice on Thursday and hasn’t practiced since before the team’s loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 13. (via Adam Teicher on Twitter).

Pacheco wasn’t active for Kansas City’s loss to the Buffalo Bills last week due to a shoulder injury, and it seems like he probably won’t be in uniform for the Chiefs’ matchup with the Patriots on Sunday.

With Kansas City’s next opponent after New England being the 5-8 Las Vegas Raiders, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Chiefs held Pacheco out for that Week 16 matchup as well.

Kanas City would likely rather have their top running back healthy for a Week 17 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals and then for the playoffs as well, assuming the Chiefs will win enough games this year to qualify for the postseason.

So, even though Pacheco is likely on track to miss his second game in a row, Kansas City should be thankful that they can probably still beat their next opponent without him.
