Zach Wilson Makes His Thoughts Clear About Upcoming Dolphins Game
The New York Jets are fresh off their best game of the season.
Ever-struggling QB Zach Wilson made a big statement amid all the noise and criticism by having the best game of his career and playing like someone who had nothing to lose.
Now, the former No. 2 pick is looking forward to building from that momentum and doing the same again vs. the Miami Dolphins. “I think it shows us what we can do as an offense,” Wilson said Wednesday, via the Associated Press. “Now that we set the bar there, we’ve got to be able to show we can do it again. I think that’s always the thing is, hey, you did it once, now you’ve got to show us you can do it again.”
Divisional games are always a bit of a toss-up, so even though the Dolphins should be heavily favored ahead of this matchup, anything can happen.
On top of that, Mike McDaniel’s team has shown a worrisome tendency to drop the ball when it matters the most, and with the division and the top seed in the AFC on the line, they could crumble under pressure again just like they did on Monday vs. the Tennessee Titans.
Tyreek Hill is dealing with an ankle injury, and facing off against the Jets’ elite defense isn’t exactly ideal for him, especially not on a short week, and we’ve already seen how big of a hit the Dolphins’ offense takes when Hill isn’t on the field.
As for Wilson, he needs to continue playing with that same aggressiveness.
He’s proven to be at his best when he’s taking risks and playing with confidence, as opposed to overthinking and staying in the pocket for as long as he’s done for most of his brief career.
There’s nothing left he can lose now, but he can still win another chance to start next season somewhere else
