Browns injuries: 4 sit out Friday’s practice, unlikely to play this week
Injury concerns are the story of the year for Cleveland and continue into Week 15 versus the Bears
At this point, nothing will really surprise Cleveland Browns fans. A team with a slew of injuries is 8-5 with Joe Flacco starting at quarterback after sitting at home for most of the season.
This week alone, the Browns lost:
OL Dawand Jones
OL Jedrick Wills (technically will remain on IR)
DL Maurice Hurst
Safety Grant Delpit (who could possibly return for the playoffs)
There is also the expectation that DE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo could be out for the year but nothing has been made official.
This week’s injury report also was loaded with DNPs even on Thursday. While we don’t have Friday’s final practice report with game statuses for Week 15 versus the Chicago Bears, four players, center Ethan Pocic, safety Juan Thornhill, LB Jordan Kunaszyk and Okoronkwo, will miss practice again today due to injury
Not having both starting safeties, a key pass rusher and a key special teams player would continue to impact Cleveland’s depth. Kunaszyk was added to the injury report on Thursday while Okoronkwo, Pocic and Thornhill have missed all three days.
Elliott will still have to clear concussion protocol to be able to play this week.
