Jalen Carter’s fumble return TD pulls Eagles within 24-13 of Cowboys
The Eagles have not scored an offensive touchdown, but a defensive score has them back in Sunday Night Football.
Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox stripped the ball from Dak Prescott, and defensive tackle Jalen Carter picked up the fumble on the bounce and ran 42 yards for a touchdown.
It has drawn the Eagles to within 24-13.
Cox has three tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a pass defensed.
The Eagles have had two possessions in the second half. Receiver A.J. Brown fumbled on a hit by Stephon Gilmore that Damone Clark recovered for the Cowboys on the Eagles’ first series of the third quarter, and the Eagles went three-and-out on their second chance with the ball in the second half.
The Eagles have ruled out safety Reed Blankenship with a concussion.

Reed Blankenship injury: Eagles safety ruled out with a concussion in Cowboys game
The Eagles’ starting safety left the Week 14 Sunday night game to be evaluated for a concussion.
[UPDATE]: Bad news for Reed Blankenship and the Eagles, with the safety officially being ruled out with a concussion. He will not return to Sunday’s game.
The Cowboys have found a lot of ways to attack the Eagles defense early in their Sunday night game, and things might be a little easier for them now that starting safety Reed Blankenship has left the game to be evaluated for a concussion.
Blankenship left the field under his own power, but was then evaluated in the medical tent before going into the locker room. Prior to leaving the field in the middle of the second quarter, the safety recorded three total tackles.
Rookie Sydney Brown stepped into Blankenship’s role, just as he did earlier in the season. Fortunately, Brown has had a smattering of experience throughout the season due to the various injuries throughout the secondary, but he’ll be challenged by Dallas’ impressive receivers.
The Eagles have had to be versatile throughout the secondary all season, rotating guys, and only recently had a bit of stability after bringing in Kevin Byard. Blankenship has already missed time this season due to rib injuries, and hopefully won’t be someone they have to replace for very long.
