The Jacksonville Jaguars announced a roster move at quarterback Saturday ahead of the matchup with the Cleveland Browns in Week 14. The move came after the Jaguars listed Lawrence as questionable to play the Browns due to the high-ankle sprain he suffered on Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson told reporters this week that Lawrence’s availability for Sunday would depend on how the third-year quarterback was able to practice Friday. Pederson said the decision to play Lawrence would made around game time.

With questions about Lawrence’s availability, the Jaguars added depth at quarterback on their 53-man roster. According to a statement by the Jaguars, the team signed Nathan Rourke to the active roster.
Rourke was signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in January. He spent two seasons with the BC Lions in the CFL before signing with the Jaguars. Rourke won the CFL’s Most Outspoken Canadian award for the 2022 season.
