Dexter Lawrence Returns to Practice on Friday For New York Giants Ahead of Green Bay Packers But Evan Neal to Miss 4th Straight Game

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence returned to practice on Friday ahead of Monday night’s matchup with the Green Bay Packers (6-6). Lawrence was limited with a hamstring injury and is trending to play this Monday night for the Giants.

Another key injury that the Giants are dealing with ahead of the matchup with the Packers is offensive tackle Evan Neal. He was not spotted at practice on Friday and is on track to miss his fourth consecutive game with an ankle injury. Neal has not an ideal second year for New York and it is going to be really interesting to see what happens moving forward. Tyre Phillips is going to start at right tackle with Evan Neal missing a fourth straight game for the Giants.

With Dexter Lawrence limited, the Green Bay Packers offensive line is going to need to be ready for him. When Lawrence faced the Packers last season when they played each other in London, he completely disrupted the game and hopefully, it doesn’t happen again.

The Green Bay Packers Will Need to Double Team Dexter Lawrence in Order For Him Not To Disrupt the Game

In order for the Packers to avoid being upset against the Giants on the road on Monday night football, they will need to double-team Lawrence up front. Even with him in the lineup, New York still has one of the worst-ranked defenses in the NFL. The point is that don’t give him any chance to ruin a football game. New York also does Kayvon Thibodeaux, who has recorded 11 sacks this season.

Dexter Lawrence has 41 total tackles, four sacks, and two pass deflections this season. The Green Bay Packers offensive line has been shaky this season. Jordan Love has been comfortable the last three games because the offensive line has played better. Dexter Lawrence was all-pro for a reason last season and can disrupt the game at any moment.

As for Evan Neal being out and Tyre Phillips starting, the Giants also have one of the worst offensive line units in the NFL. Green Bay has been getting after the quarterback over the last few weeks. They should also have their fair share of sacks on Monday night football.
