Joe Flacco has been named the Cleveland Browns’ next starting quarterback.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson had a concussion last weekend against the Denver Broncos and has not been cleared to play, thus Flacco will start for the Browns against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Deshaun Watson started the season at quarterback for Cleveland, but he endured season-ending shoulder surgery last month.

On Sunday, Flacco will be supported by PJ Walker, who has also started two games this season.

At a pivotal moment in their season, the Browns turn to Flacco, the 2012 Super Bowl MVP with the Baltimore Ravens.

Despite their quarterback woes, the Browns are 7-4 and in the hunt for a postseason spot.

The race for the final few AFC playoff positions is heating up, with five teams within a game of a Wild Card spot.

Flacco joined the Browns less than two weeks ago and has already taken over the offense.

Flacco most memorably spent a decade with an AFC North division opponent, the Baltimore Ravens. He has previously played for the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos.

Only seven times since 1950 has a team started four different winning quarterbacks. The most recent instance was the 2015 Houston Texans.
