Jason Llewellyn, a tight end for Oklahoma, is heading to the transfer portal and out of the Sooners. He’s bidding Sooner Nation farewell with this message.

Jason Llewellyn, a tight end for Oklahoma football, is expressing gratitude to Sooner Nation as he logs onto the transfer portal. The Oklahoma offensive player has stated on his social media accounts that he plans to leave the team.

Llewellyn wrote on social media, “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, trainers, staff, and Sooner Nation for all of your love and support.” He is still eligible for the next three years.
This season, Llewellyn was a member of Oklahoma’s potent offense, which helped the team finish with a 10-2 record and narrowly miss out on the Big 12 Championship game. After this season, Oklahoma and Texas will leave the Big 12 to join the SEC. The Sooners will still participate in a bowl game, but since Llewellyn is going through the portal, he isn’t anticipated to play.

It is anticipated that teams from non-Power 5 institutions and all major conferences would be very interested in Llewellyn. When he was fresh out of high school, he was rated by Rivals and ESPN as a four-star talent. Llewellyn had trouble establishing himself as the offense’s starting player this season. After getting hurt during spring football, he wasn’t as high on the depth chart as he would have liked. But there’s no denying his potential, and he might play a much bigger part on a different squad.

Llewellyn appeared in ten games for the Sooners in 2022, mostly as a reserve tight end and on special teams. He played high school football at Aledo High School in Texas, where his listed weight is 255 pounds and 6 feet 5 inches.

Llewellyn, who was part of Oklahoma’s offense, enters the transfer portal alongside running back Tawee Walker. Additionally, Jeff Lebby, the offensive coordinator for the Sooners, left to become the head coach of Mississippi State. The identity of Oklahoma’s bowl opponent for this season is still pending.
