Cowboys' Dak Prescott talks 'humbling' 49ers loss: 'Didn't see it coming' | Fox News

Trade Me!’ Cowboys QB Dak Prescott to Falcons? ESPN Analyst Says ‘Yes!

The Atlanta Falcons are in prime offseason mode, seeking a new head coach and (likely) a new quarterback for the 2024 season. What better way to spark some enthusiasm in Atlanta than securing the starting quarterback of the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys? Seem far-fetched? Maybe, but that potential move gained some traction on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Wednesday. The conversation began with a discussion on Prescott’s current leverage with the Cowboys, and host Mike Greenberg put a softball on a tee for analyst Jeff Saturday who eventually brought the Falcons into the discussion

“No one has ever had the leverage that Dak Prescott has,” Greenberg said. “His cap hit next season is $59 million, and that’s the last year of his deal. He has a no franchise tag clause, he has final authority on all trades. Has total control in a way that no football player ever has, including people who are free agent

“They don’t get to set their own market. His is already set at $59 million. So Dak needs to talk into Jerry Jones’ office and say, ‘This is where I want to go. Trade me there now.’ And, Jeff, you know exactly where that should be.” “The Atlanta Falcons,” Saturday replied. “Go in there with the papers today. You have plenty of talent. Hopefully, Bill Belichick is going to be the coach, or someone is going to be in there to turn it. They play good on defense, they have weapons on offense, and you’re talking about a guy who’s going to walk in and command that type of energy.”

The acquisition of Prescott would certainly solve the Falcons’ quarterback problem. Even though the Cowboys had an unceremonious Wild Card exit from the playoffs this season, Dak threw for over 4,500 yards, 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions in the 2023 regular season.
