Dodgers fan hospitalized after falling from a building during World Series parade in LA

Los Angeles Dodgers fan was rushed to hospital after falling from the third floor of a building as his team celebrated winning the World Series on Friday.

The Dodgers went on a parade in downtown LA when, according to KTLA5, the fan fell close to the intersection of 8 and Flower streets in the early afternoon.

‘Preliminary reports indicate that the patient fell from the 3 floor of a structure,’ police are quoted as saying.

KTLA5 says witnesses saw the man breathing and moving slightly – the extent of his injuries are not yet known – but blood was also visible.

Hundreds of thousands of fans came out onto the streets of LA to celebrate their team’s eighth World Series title after beating the New York Yankees earlier this week.

After parading their trophy through the city, the Dodgers team ended up back at Dodger Stadium for a rally in front of their fans.

The Dodgers secured their title on Wednesday night, fighting back from 5-0 down at Yankee Stadium to win 7-6 and take the series with a 4-1 win.

As Shohei Ohtani and his team celebrated in New York, thousands of fans back in California poured out onto the streets of LA to celebrate in wild scenes.

Things did turn ugly in parts, however, with gangs pictured looting stores and a bus being burnt down. Police made arrests for fireworks and other objects being thrown at them.

A Dodgers fan also went viral for an horrific accident where a firework exploded in his hand, causing debilitating injuries.

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers’ first game of the season in South Korea was overshadowed afterward by Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter hinting at his stealing from the Japanese superstar. Their last postgame was a beer and champagne-fueled celebration of the franchise’s eighth World Series title.

In between came a multitude of injuries, especially to the rotation as well as Mookie Betts’ broken hand and Freddie Freeman’s sprained ankle, Ohtani’s historic 50/50 feat, the franchise’s 11th National League West title in 12 seasons, and compiling the best record in the majors.

Then came the playoffs, where the Dodgers proved a resilient bunch.

They trailed rival San Diego 2-1 in the National League division series and rallied to win in five games.
