That is according to Het Nieuwsblad, which has made quite a big claim about Dennis
So, what has been reported about Emmanuel Dennis, Nottingham Forest and Rangers? Let’s take a look.
Well, according to Het Nieuwsblad, Rangers are interested in signing Emmanuel Dennis from Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.
The report has claimed that Rangers manager Philippe Clement wants to bring Dennis to Ibrox this month.
Het Nieuwsblad has actually boldly stated that the Nigeria international is “on his way” to Rangers in January. There is no mention of whether it is a permanent deal or a loan move.
Clement, who was appointed the Rangers manager in October 2023, worked with the striker for Belgian club Club Brugge.
Dennis is on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir from Forest at the moment.
In my view, Emmanuel Dennis does not have a future at Nottingham Forest. I think that it would be better for the Premier League club if they cut their losses now and sell the 26-year-old Nigeria international forward in January.
Dennis joined Forest from Watford in the summer of 2022 for £20 million (The Athletic). There is no way that the Reds would be able to recoup that amount now.
The Nigeria International forward made six starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Forest in 2022-23. He scored two goals and gave two assists in those games. It simply did not happen for Dennis at the City Ground.
During his loan spell at Istanbul Basaksehir so far this season, Dennis has scored no goal or given an assist in four starts and four substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig.
