Raiders dealt huge blow before Pittsburgh Steelers game
The Las Vegas Raiders will likely be without wide receiver Jakobi Meyers against the Pittsburgh Steelers after the starting wide receiver was downgraded from questionable to doubtful by the Raiders. They will already be without superstar wide receiver Davante Adams and tight Michael Mayer. Running back Zamir White is battling a groin injury and will likely miss the game as well.
With Meyers and Adams out, the Raiders will turn to Tre Tucker and D.J. Turner as their top two wide receivers. Tyreik McAllister is their top backup, and he was dealing with a hamstring injury before being cleared this week.
In addition, they have elevated wide receivers Alex Bachman and Kristian Wilkerson from the practice squad. The Steelers will be fully healthy in their secondary to counter, other than safety Damontae Kazee, who will miss the game with an ankle injury.
The Raiders’ offense will look vastly different than it did a week ago without Meyers and Gardner Minshew starting. Aidan O’Connell is set to get his first start of the season. Alex Mattison will start at running back with White likely sidelined.
Pittsburgh is favored by three on the road. This is the second straight season they will head to Las Vegas, and they came home with a win last season. The Steelers will look for a repeat performance.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are lacing up to take on the Raiders in a must-win AFC showdown in Las Vegas. This would have the makings of a scorcher if not for the convenient retractable roof at Allegiant Stadium.
The Steelers can ill-afford to botch their third straight game, and a two-game losing streak is already more than fans want to see. Mike Tomlin’s team needs a bounce-back performance today, and the offense must show the ability to put points on the board.
Early in the season, Pittsburgh has been at the mercy of some questionable calls, and we hope the officials don’t negatively impact this game. Traveling across time zones is hard enough, and the Steelers will need to bring their ‘A’ game. Here are the announcers and referees for today’s game.
