‘No dip of Dominance’: No. 1 CB, Alabama legacy Justice Fitzpatrick extremely impressed with new staff

The younger brother of Crimson Tide legend Minkah Fitzpatrick, and his parents, returned to a place they have called home for many years. Bama247 has the latest on a big weekend for the defensive staff.

Justice Fitzpatrick, the younger brother of Crimson Tide legend Minkah Fitzpatrick, returned to a familiar place recently for the second time this year.

The No. 1 cornerback in the 2026 class was among the 100+ recruits at the University of Alabama last Saturday to watch arguably one of the best college football games of all time play out. It marked the first game visit of the fall for the Alabama legacy recruit. He first took a trip to Tuscaloosa in June, about a week after receiving his re-offer Colin Hitschler.

MOM’S PERSPECTIVE: How Alabama continues to make five-star QB Keelon Russell happy with summertime decision

“I would say the one thing Alabama has over every other school is that I grew up around there and it’s very comfortable scenery for me,” he said then. “I do have a couple close people who me and my family still know from over there. So, they do have a couple of one-ups on some schools.”

With another visit under his belt and a meeting with the defensive staff on Sunday, Fitzpatrick’s interest level continues to rise for a program he and his family hold close to their hearts.

Bama247 caught up with the mother of Russell, April Moore, for a whole bunch of thoughts coming out of her first-ever game experience in Tuscaloosa for the Georgia showdown.

There was once a time when April Moore was not particularly the biggest fan of Alabama, but at the same time, there wasn’t much thought about them. Then Keelon Russell, who was committed to SMU at the time, picked up an offer from head coach Kalen DeBoer and offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan on April 24. Fast forward to October? The mother of the five-star quarterback is all in on the Crimson Tide and ready to see her son put on that uniform next fall.

The Russell family returned to Tuscaloosa last weekend for the incredible showdown against Georgia, marking the first-ever game visit for all. It was the first trip back since they were on campus for the ‘Champions Cook-Out’ in late July. DeBoer and Sheridan made a stop at Duncanville (TX) High School earlier this month to watch their future quarterback in game action.
