Offensive Line Woes Continue, Browns Lose To Raiders 20-16
The Cleveland Browns lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in Sin City on Sunday 20-16. They also lost another starting offensive lineman as center Ethan Pocic goes down with an ankle injury and never returned to the game. This is horrible news for a Browns team that is already struggling with an injury report a mile long. They were already down three starters in left tackle, Jed Wills, right tackle Jack Conklin, and right guard Wyatt Teller. With the loss of Pocic going down that only leaves left guard Joel Bitonio as the only remaining starter.
The offensive line has been overrun by opposing defenses all year. It’s a MASH unit out there, and quarterback Deshaun Watson has spent most of his time running for his life. Even being under siege most of the day, Watson connected on 24 of 31 passes for 176 yards, a touchdown and an interception. If not for a horrible holding penalty late in the game that wiped out an 82-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper, his stats would be even better, and the outcome would have been different.
Instead, it took the points off the board, pushed the Browns back, and they eventually punted a couple of plays later. The Browns are now 1-3 and will be on the road next week to take on the surprising Washington Commanders who are 3-1 and lead the NFC East.

The Browns committed fewer penalties in this week’s game than in previous contests – just five for 38 yards – but allowed mental miscues and missed assignments to keep the team out of the end zone over the final 45 minutes of the game.
