Guardians Star Has A Chance To Achieve The ‘Quietest 40-40 Season Ever’

Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez already got his team in the postseason and helped deliver the AL Central title.

He is also on the verge of giving the Guards a first-round bye in the playoffs.

José Ramírez #11 of the Cleveland Guardians celebrates as he round the bases on a solo homer during the fifth inning against the New York Mets at Progressive Field on May 21, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio.

He is also on the verge of giving the Guards a first-round bye in the playoffs.

As the regular season comes to an end, Ramirez also has a chance to get a pretty special individual achievement: becoming a member of the 40-40 club.

That means hitting 40 home runs and stealing 40 bases in the same season, something that only six players have achieved: Barry Bonds (1996), Alex Rodriguez (1998), Jose Canseco (1988), Alfonso Soriano (2006), Ronald Acuna Jr. (2023), and Shohei Ohtani (2024).

MLB Deadline News, a baseball account on X that analyzes the game and breaks news and rumors, offered its take on Ramirez and the golden chance he has in front of him.

“Listen you can cheer for whoever/whatever you want during the last week of regular season baseball but I will be cheering for Jose Ramirez to hit 3 HRs and deliver the quietest 40/40 season of all-time,” they posted.
