WHY Have the Boston Bruins NOT Signed Jeremy Swayman? | The Cam Show - YouTube

Jeremy Swayman’s latest move spells huge trouble for the Boston Bruins as he decide his fate with Tampa Bay Lightning link

Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins are currently in the midst of a pretty contentious contract negotiation and fans are beginning to get worried.

Swayman is reportedly looking for $10 million per year. However, the Bruins are only offering a pitiful salary of $6.2 million. Overall, this has put the two at odds and it is starting to boil over into training camp, as expected. There were fears that Swayman would not participate at training camp. Now, that has been confirmed, at least for now.

According to reporter Dan Roche, Swayman is currently not on the list for training camp. Instead, he will be holding out until further notice.

Goaltender Jeremy Swayman not listed on Boston Bruins' training camp roster

Previously, Brad Marchand spoke about the Swayman situation and noted how it has become a bit out of hand. Clearly, the Bruins captain just wants his goaltender back on the team.

‘It’s a big topic of conversation with the fans and the media, and this is part of the business, and we all are really looking forward to when it does get done and the process is over and he is back with the group. But that’s obviously out of our hands and we don’t get involved in any of that. So it’ll be great when everything gets kind of squared away.’

Only time will tell how this all shakes out. If one thing is for certain, it is that this Bruins team is in disarray very early on and that spells trouble for the rest of the season. Hopefully, they can figure something out and fast.

Boston Bruins GM gets brutally honest about Jeremy Swayman negotiations

Bruins Press Conference: Don Sweeney, Jim Montgomery Address Jeremy Swayman Contract

By now, everyone knows that Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins are having problems when it comes to getting a contract done.

Swayman is currently looking for a deal that pays him a healthy $10 million per year. However, according to reports, the Bruins only want to give Swaman around $6.2 million. It is not ideal in the least bit, and now, General Manager Don Sweeney needs to get something done.

This is especially true as training camp is about to begin and Swayman is looking to hold out. Sweeney knows time is running out, and he said as much during a press conference today.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the team believes it can get a deal done by December 1st. If they don’t, they will not be able to negotiate until the Summer. Needless to say, time is running out and there is no guarantee that the team is able to get something done.

One has to wonder if Swayman will agree to play this season without a deal. If he tries his hand at what NFL players do, it could be a long stretch of hockey for the Bruins. At this point, cooler heads need to prevail and a deal has to come to fruition.
