Panthers Reacts Results was encouraging Plumeting confidence with a tradition like no other after the week 1 game result

It only took a first impression to send Carolina Panthers fans running for the hills again. The hosts of the cheapest ticket in the NFL this week, the Panthers clearly have their work cut out for themselves to earn their fans’ trust again.

Our weekly confidence poll saw a drop of 62% in fan confidence. We are down to 17% of fans who think the team is going in the right direction, as compared to 72% before the season started.

That is not even the biggest drop in the NFC South, however. The Atlanta Falcons fans over at the Falcoholic saw their confidence drop from 91% to 24% after their Week 1 fiasco. That’s a 67% drop. Our friends at FanDuel seem to agree, as they’ve held the Panthers as a near-touchdown (-4.5) home underdog for most of the week.

When asked how many wins the Panthers will get this season, a plurality of respondents technically voted for progress. 27% of y’all think the 2024 Panthers are a three win team. Only 16% thought the team is capable of four or more wins.

This is compared to a poll conducted just before the season where 83% of y’all had the team at five wins or more. What a difference a week makes. It turns out Dave Canales might be new to the Panthers, but we fans have been around this block a few times.

Players appreciated the soaked solidarity: "Thank you for those loyal fans"

Speaking of the difference a week can make, only 39% of y’all expect Bryce Young to show improvement as a quarterback in Week 2.

By now, you’ve probably already seen the new SB Nation in-5 daily trivia game. It made its debut over at SBNation.com recently, but we have now decided to switch things up a bit (because we’re still in the figuring-it-out phase here): for the next few days, the game will be posted directly here on Cat Scratch Reader at 8 a.m. ET each day.

The game will live in a new article each day for you to play, chat about, and provide feedback.

An important note: this game includes a field of current and former random NFL players, not just current and former Panthers players.

The goal of the game is to guess the correct random NFL player with the help of up to five clues. We’ll mix in BOTH ACTIVE AND RETIRED PLAYERS this week. It won’t be easy to figure it out in one or two guesses, but some of you might be able to nail it. It will be a mix of well-known players and some “that guys” that we haven’t thought of in some time. The game will appear in slot #3 of the layout each day this week, with a new article each day for the game.

After you correctly guess the player, you can click “Share Results” to share how you did in the comments and on social media. We won’t go into other details about the game as we’d like your feedback on it. How it plays, what you think of it, the difficulty level, and anything else you can think of that will let us know what you think and how we can improve the game. You can provide feedback in the comments of this article, or you can fill out this Google Form.
