The Elegance of Yusuf Yazici

Tottenham offered was finally accepted after the Turkish star will commence medicals and other official deal soon

Man United and Tottenham are among numerous Premier League clubs in the race to sign Turkey international Yusuf Yazici.

The Premier League rivals have been offered the chance to sign Yazici, who is currently a free agent after his Lille deal expired in July.

Sources have told Football Insider that Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also among the clubs monitoring this situation as teams begin to dip into the free-agent market.

The 27-year-old has been unable to secure a new club in the past three months, but there is said to be plenty of interest in his services.

The midfielder made 42 appearances for Lille last season in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists.

Despite interest in Yaczici from the Premier League, it is believed to be Galatasaray that are leading the race to sign him.

Man United sold Scott McTominay at the end of the summer transfer window and area dealing with an injury to Mason Mount which has depleted Erik ten Hag’s options in the middle of the pitch.

Picking up Yazici on a free transfer could be the answer to his problems in that area of the field, as he could provide some competition to the current squad.

The Turkish midfielder has proven himself to be a goal threat throughout his career, scoring 64 times in 267 appearances.

Man United might be considering signing a player after the deadline day has closed, but they are also contemplating letting one more leave.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are looking to sign Casemiro on a season-long loan move following his disappointing performance against Liverpool last weekend.

The new Premier League season is only just up and running but, after only three games, players are now heading away with their countries.

Ange Postecoglou may have wanted to work with his plays after Sunday’s defeat at Newcastle, having seen Tottenham dominate the game and yet still lose.

Instead, Postecoglou has to watch his players from afar and no doubt sit nervously waiting to hear of any injury news ahead of the North London derby against Arsenal.

The big news is that Kulusevski will captain Sweden against Azerbaijan on Thursday evening as skipper Victor Lindelof is unavailable.

Kulusevski has taken on a leadership role in the Sweden ranks of late and admitted giving a Postecoglou-inspired team talk back in March.

Now ready to put on the armband for Sweden, Kulusevski has been praised by Sweden left back Ludwig Augustinsson whilst speaking to TV4.

Augustinsson feels that Kulusevski is a natural leader as he is always pushing his Sweden teammates forward in the dressing room.

The former Aston Villa full back added that Kulusevski is more outgoing now and is still growing as a leader, feeling that his step-up as Sweden captain is ‘natural’.

“He has natural leadership qualities. He is a pusher. He wants to move forward, he takes the initiative. He drives the team on the pitch and more and more in the dressing room,” said Augustinsson.

“He is much more open and outgoing than before. He is growing more and more into a leader and he has a lot of experience at the highest level. It feels natural that it is he who takes the armband,” he added.
