Sheffield Wednesday’s ongoing pursuit for a striker continues to take priority for Danny Rohl’s side.
Jamal Lowe has arrived in S6 with an attracting goalscoring record at Championship level, whilst they have also sought to bring former Manchester United striker Charlie McNeill into the fray, although it will be unlikely to see him play a significant first-team role.
Despite these arrivals, former Sheffield Wednesday and £4.5million rated striker Ike Ugbo is still considered as Rohl’s main option to further bolster attacking options ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign, with former Cardiff City striker Sory Kaba highlighted as a back-up option to lead the line.
Attacking options are rather light for Rohl’s side, however he now faces a predicament over one of his attackers who is attracting EFL interest.

Bailey Cadamarteri was given his first taste of first-team football for Sheffield Wednesday under German boss Rohl, and the youngster was able to repay the faith in him with four crucial league goals that helped keep the Owls in the Championship last season.
However, the 19-year-old’s future is now reportedly in doubt, with ‘several clubs in England and Scotland considering making a move’ for the youngster on loan per The Star.

League One sides Wrexham, Huddersfield Town, Stockport County and Blackpool have reportedly shown interest in Cadamarteri, whilst Motherwell and Dundee United have also supposedly enquired about the striker’s future.

There is no doubt that a loan to League One would have a massively beneficial impact on Cadamarteri, especially with him likely to lead the line for the various clubs interested in attaining his services.
Cadamarteri is someone who will undoubtedly thrive and play out of his skin at League One level, and a successful period at this level could propel him to high-Championship level in a year’s time.
Despite this, there should be no underestimating the impact that Cadamarteri could have in the Sheffield Wednesday squad, even if he isn’t being handed regular starts.
The 19-year-old clearly thrived under Rohl and any other manager could have the potential of stagnating his growth as a player.
Both Ugbo and Kaba are linked to the club, however striker options involving Cadamarteri are more than good enough.
As a result of the continued uncertainty in the on-going transfer window, there would be no harm in looking to continue giving Cadamarteri first-team opportunities at Sheffield Wednesday to continue his development as an alternative to bringing in an extra striker.
