The Athletic Predicts Detroit Tigers Won’t Trade Ace Pitcher Tarik Skubal.
The Athletic predicts that the Detroit Tigers won’t trade ace pitcher Tarik Skubal before the trading deadline this month. Skubal, 27, has an outstanding record of 11-3 with an ERA of 2.34.
Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic writes:
Despite all the chatter, this conversation isn’t all that complicated. It would take a massive haul for the Tigers to move their ace at this year’s deadline. The Orioles are perhaps the only team that can offer enough, and even then, would Mike Elias really be willing to part with Jackson Holliday? The odds of Skubal actually moving seem slim.
