Sky Blues supporters were left shocked and confused by the assistant manager and first team coach’s exit, which was announced on day one of pre-season. The only explanation given by the club was in a statement that read: “Following a post season review, it has decided to revamp its coaching structure…”

The 54-year-old was seen as a key member of Mark Robins’ coaching staff – the man who ‘paints the pictures,’ as the manager once said.

In a statement released by his solicitor, Viveash said: “After seven incredible years it has been decided that my Coventry City journey has come to an end.

“This club has become incredibly special to me. Joining back in 2017, the journey we’ve been on together, has been nothing short of remarkable. From League Two to the Championship and one kick away from the Premier League, we achieved things many thought impossible. To play a part in that success is something I’ll always be immensely proud of.

“I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the club, the staff and all the players I’ve worked with over the years. Their dedication and commitment have been unwavering, and it’s been a privilege to be part of such talented groups.

“But most importantly, I want to thank the incredible Coventry City fans. Your unwavering support, through thick and thin, has been a constant source of motivation. The atmosphere you create at games especially at the CBS Arena is truly special, and I’ll never forget the roar of the crowd after a big win. I hope to be back at the stadium in the future to say a proper goodbye to you all and thank you for all the wonderful messages, they truly mean a lot.
