Anthony Richardson Shows Off Big Arm In Practice.

Going into last year’s NFL Draft, quarterback Anthony Richardson saw his stock rise thanks to a strong showing at the draft combine.

The Indianapolis Colts took him with the No. 4 pick, and while he was quickly named their starter, he had an injury-riddled rookie year that ended after just four games because of a shoulder injury.

But he is back on the field for some offseason workouts with his teammates, and he was seen launching an absolute rocket down the field, per the Colts’ official Twitter.

At the University of Florida, Richardson wasn’t really known for his arm — in three seasons with the Gators, he completed just 54.7 percent of his pass attempts, and as a junior, he was at 53.8 percent while throwing for a modest 2,549 yards and 17 touchdowns.

But he also added 654 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, and at 6-foot-4 and 244 pounds, he has good size for a pro quarterback.

Indianapolis has one of the league’s best running backs in Jonathan Taylor, a very good wide receiver in Michael Pittman Jr., and a promising young wideout in Josh Downs, which should give Richardson solid support moving forward.

But their defense, which was 24th in total yards allowed and 28th in total points given up, is a concern.

The good news for the Colts is that if Richardson struggles this coming season, they have a capable backup in Joe Flacco, who came out of mothballs to help lead the Cleveland Browns to an unexpected playoff berth after Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.
