Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Jacob Chapman has joined Rochdale on loan, as announced by their official club website.

Chapman, 23, has recently returned to full fitness following an ankle injury.

The Terriers have confirmed he will spend the rest of this season at Spotland.

Chapman’s switch to Rochdale is a chance for him to get some regular game time under his belt.

He is out of contract at the John Smith’s Stadium at the end of this campaign and is due to become a free agent in late June.

Chapman joined his current club in 2019 and has since played twice for their senior team, both of which came earlier this season.

The Australian moved over to England after spells Down Under at Sydney United 58 and Marconi Stallions.

Huddersfield signed him after a trial spell and he has since risen up through their academy ranks.

Chapman has had loan stints away at Ossett United, Gateshead and Salford City in the past to get some experience under his belt.

He then made his debut in December last year in a league fixture against Blackburn Rovers after Chris Maxwell got injured.

The stopper temporarily leaves behind a Terriers’ team who are fighting for their lives. They are back in action after the international break with a home clash against play-off chasing Coventry City.
