Kalvin Phillips sends message to Archie Gray after Leeds United win over Leicester City
Kalvin Phillips sent a message to Archie Gray on social media after the youngster scored for Leeds United in the 3-1 win over Leicester City.
Gray netted his first senior goal for the club in Friday’s (23 February) dramatic victory over the Championship leaders at Elland Road.
It was initially adjudged that it was an own goal as it took a heavy deflection off Leicester defender Wout Faes, but Gray was quick to claim it.
The 17-year-old posted an image of himself celebrating on his personal Instagram account [24 February], captioned: “9 wins in a row! Great way to get my first goal! We keep moving.”
Former Leeds favourite Phillips, who is currently on loan at West Ham from Manchester City, replied: “Wonderboy!!!”
Kalvin Phillips to Leeds United return touted
Leeds United clearly still have Phillips’ heart and probably always will do. That makes talk of a possible reunion if the Whites go up this season sound pretty feasible.
Phillips has had a torrid time of things in the Premier League with Man City and now West Ham, but a return to Elland Road could be a possible escape route.

Gray is now very much a favourite of many supporters after what has been a superb breakthrough campaign. The youngster has belied his age by playing in a number of positions.
It is at full-back he has featured most prominently this season, and that is where he netted his goal – if it does indeed get awarded to him – against Leicester.
That striker helped Leeds to a memorable victory and one that ensures automatic promotion remains in our hands as the games tick down.
