Wrexham want to sign Premier League record-setter once labelled ‘one of the best talents in the country’
There’s a new striker on Wrexham’s summer transfer wishlist, and despite his young age, he’s already a player with bags of experience.
Phil Parkinson is already hard at work in the transfer market, with Wrexham completing their signing of the summer on Monday.
It was announced that Wrexham have completed a deal to sign Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle, paying just £700,000 for a striker who’s scored 22 Championship goals in the last two seasons.
Fans will certainly want more of the same. Parkinson looks set to deliver, too, with Wrexham linked with a number of potential signings including a number of attacking players with Parkinson clearly putting a lot of focus on the final third.
One name being linked with a move to the Racecourse is Daniel Jebbison.

What managers have said about Wrexham transfer target Daniel Jebbison
It’s rumoured that Wrexham are interested in signing Jebbison from Bournemouth this summer. The Dragons are keen on a loan deal for the 21-year-old Canadian international who is struggling to make an impact in the Premier League right now.
But he’s a player held in very high regards. Starting out at Sheffield United, it was during a loan spell with Burton Albion where Jebbison really started to turn heads, scoring seven goals in 20 league games for the Brewers.
Then manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said of Jebbison: “He’s one of the best talents in the country. So for us to work with him is very good. He’s got pace and he’s got ability and he’s got an eye for goal. He wants to score goals and he’s not happy when he doesn’t. That’s what a striker is about. He’s a weapon.”
Canadian international boss Jesse Marsch is also a big fan of Jebbison’s. The Bournemouth man currently has three caps for his nation but is awaiting his first goal on the international stage.
In February this year, Jebbison committed himself to Canada, having been eligible to represent England and Jamaica as well. Marsch responded: “Daniel has massive potential, we can see that. He’s still a little raw and developing into the potential of what he can be, but his mentality to learn, grow and push to be part of this national team are all at a really high level, and I’m super excited to get him involved.”
And when Jebbison was recalled to Bramall lane midway through the 2021/22 season, former Sheffield United first-team coach Jack Lester said: “He’s got some fantastic physical attributes and we will continue to work to develop him. But he’s got a really bright future, Dan… He’s strong mentally, there’s no problem there. He’s had lots of little challenges out along the way. He’s experienced the loan market if you like, he’s done really well out there.”
Daniel Jebbison is a Premier League record-setter
Jebbison initially burst onto the scene at the end of the 2020/21 Premier League season. Relegated early, Jebbison was handed a run out in the final few games of the season, and on his first-ever start in the Premier League, he scored.
Jebbison netted against Everton at the age of 17 years and 309 days, becoming the youngest player ever to score in their first Premier League start: a record he holds to this day.
It’s been tough for Jebbison since then, though. Joining Bournemouth in 2024 for a fee of £1.5million, he’s scored just three in 21 total games for the Cherries, having failed to score in 13 Championship games on loan with Watford for half of the 2024/25 campaign.

3 reasons why Wrexham could be a perfect fit for Daniel Jebbison
Physical style of play would complement Daniel Jebbison
Parkinson’s style of play at Wrexham gets a lot of criticism. But it’s worked so far and expect him to don the same philosophies in the Championship next season.
It can be a very physical style and given what previous managers have said about Jebbison’s work-rate and physicality, playing under Parkinson at the Racecourse could be a great fit for Jebbison.
Phil Parkinson will surely rotate forwards next season
Right now, Parkinson’s striker options going into next season seem a little light, given the assumptions that Wrexham will sell Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer.
Wrexham’s club record signing Sam Smith looks like the no.1 choice right now, though he’ll battle with Hardie for the starting spot next season if Jay Rodriguez can keep his spot in that second-striker role.
Either way, with so many games and a step up in physicality, expect Parkinson to rotate his strikers all the time, which would give Jebbison ample opportunity to impress.
Daniel Jebbison would have some great competition
And all that competition could give Jebbison a real edge. Arguably at Bournemouth right now, the competition is too much for Jebbison. But dropping down to a level where he might be more comfortable could be ideal.
Vying alongside two proven, but not Premier League strikers in Smith and Hardie could bring back some confidence and form for Jebbison, who remains very young, but with some great experience, so the stage is certainly set for him to kick on.
