Foden's City future no longer clear.jpg

Phil Foden: Man City midfielder say struggles down to off-field issues and injury - BBC Sport

Phil Foden’s absence from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad was not surprising.

He might still technically be the holder of the coveted PFA Players’ Player of the Year trophy for his outstanding performances last year, but in the final months of this season, he could barely get a game.

he mysterious downturn in form, which has led to this sorry scenario for the Manchester City forward, began with Foden donning the white shirt of England last summer at the European Championships in Germany.

Touted ahead of the competition as a key component in the most exciting front line in a generation, he soon became a scapegoat for the side’s lethargic performances in the early rounds.

It was strange to see a player who, just weeks before, picked up the ball with such incision and rifled it into the back of the West Ham United net in the final crucial game, struggling to find a forward pass.

West Ham United have been linked with signing a couple of players from Leicester City over the summer. The two Foxes in question would certainly enhance options at London Stadium. Though every Premier League club seems to believe they can hold LCFC’s feet to the fire, so to speak, over transfers. This notion was incorrectly formed because of the East Midlands side’s perceived and reported financial difficulties. And City may well have money problems; owners King Power are definitely going through a rough ride at the moment.

Phil Foden: The Jewel of Manchester City

But the Leicestershire team will not be bullied nor pushed around or dictated to. Not under any circumstances! Therefore the Hammers will probably have to pay a lot more than advertised for Mads Hermansen. In fact, the East Londoners could be forced to shell out extra millions than suspected for Leicester’s star goalkeeper. What’s the score with the Dane, is he moving to the capital? How much will he cost WHUFC? And is a replacement waiting in the wings on Filbert Way?

West Ham United might perhaps have to pay millions more than expected for Leicester City star even though Foxes have deputy stand by in Jakub Stolarczyk

If you weren’t aware, West Ham manager Graham Potter would apparently like to swoop for a City duo. And not just any Leicester pair, our two best players: Bilal El Khannouss and Hermansen.

Though both Foxes are said to be valued slightly higher by LCFC than some outlets have published. The Moroccan, for example, is supposedly worth £40 million to the one-time Premier League champions; that’s almost a difference of £20m to reports.

Meanwhile some journalists have claimed that approximately £20m will buy you Hermansen. I must admit that when I first saw that alleged amount, I was surprised.
