Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernández leaves game vs. Marlins with hamstring tightness
MIAMI (AP) – Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Teoscar Hernández left in the fourth inning of the series-opening game against the Miami Marlins on Monday night with tightness in his left hamstring.
Hernández hit an RBI double for the Dodgers´ first run in the first inning and singled to right in the third. When Hernández returned to the dugout for the fourth, he was replaced by Chris Taylor.
In his second season with the Dodgers, Hernández began Monday with a team-leading nine homers that was tied after Shohei Ohtani hit a two-run shot in the fifth to give Los Angeles a 5-0 lead against Miami.
Dodgers Reveal Why Teoscar Hernandez Was Removed From Monday’s Game vs Marlins
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández was almost surprisingly removed from Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins in the fourth inning.
It wasn’t apparent that Hernández had suffered an injury, but in the bottom of the fourth inning, Chris Taylor was in the game with Hernández in the dugout.
Shortly after the move, the Dodgers announced that Hernández exited the game with left hamstring tightness.
Hernández, 32, is off to another dominant season with the Dodgers in 2025. Following up his All-Star campaign in 2024, the right-handed slugger is slashing .315/.333/.600 with nine home runs, 34 RBIs, 10 doubles, and an OPS of .933.
The Dodgers will hope Hernández’s injury isn’t serious, and him being removed from the game was just precautionary. The team should have an update on the reigning Home Run Derby champion after the game, courtesy of manager Dave Roberts.

Chris Taylor is in centerfield and Andy Pages moved to right field. Hernandez left the game going 2-for-2 with a single and a double.
He is hitting .305 with nine home runs and 34 RBIs this season. He is currently leading the league in RBIs.
The only time the outfielder has missed time this year is because of a stomach bug. It’s unclear if Hernandez will miss an extended period of time at this point, but his departure from Monday’s game is concerning.
Hernandez has been one of the Dodgers’ most productive hitters this season, and the hope is that his injury is not severe.
