Dodgers vs Braves Delayed on Saturday: When Will Game Start?

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to face the Atlanta Braves Saturday at Truist Park, but the game will likely start late due to rainy weather.

The contest was originally supposed to begin at 4:10 p.m. PST, but manager Dave Roberts said the weather will likely push back the game to a 6:30/7:00 p.m PST start.

Roberts revealed both teams are “prepared to hunker down” and play Saturday, since neither squad wants to split a doubleheader Sunday. It is currently not raining in Atlanta.

The Dodgers lineup will not have Tommy Edman as the utility man was placed on the injured list with right ankle inflammation. Edman has not played since Tuesday’s win over the Miami Marlins.

Typically, Miguel Rojas or Kiké Hernández will fill in at second. However, Chris Taylor will play at second base for Saturday’s contest.

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow will not throw for 10-14 days and will be re-evaluated from there, manager Dave Roberts announced this week. Glasnow was placed on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

The latest update does not bode well for the 31-year-old, whose injury saga has exhausted himself, the team, and fans.

“There’s the mechanics piece of it,” Roberts said. “There’s being uncomfortable, not feeling right. I think we’re all just – as Tyler said it – very frustrated and trying to get to the bottom of it.”

Roberts previously said Glasnow’s shoulder injury was “probably not” a long-term concern; however, the Dodgers shutting him down from throwing indicates it will take some time for Glasnow to return to the mound.

Since being traded to the Dodgers ahead of the 2024 season, Glasnow has dealt with five different injuries. In 2024, the right-hander dealt with cramps, back issues, and an elbow sprain that sidelined him for the postseason.

In the opening month of this season, Glasnow has dealt with cramps and a shoulder injury. Glasnow left two consecutive starts because of injury.
